Virtual and On-Demand

  • LiveFeb. 13 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. —  Finances impact your mental health and vice versa. Find ways to stress less while managing your money. Register to attend one of Milliman’s live virtual webinars.

Financial Well-Being

Finances are a top worry for many employees. Parkland is here to help.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers counseling on credit card and debt management (Learn more here, and then call 844‑216‑8399 for help.)

Visit the Metro Medical Credit Union at 8200 Brookriver Dr., Suite N 110, Dallas, TX 75247, where you can access a broad range of financial services, such as savings/checking accounts, direct deposits, payroll deductions, ATM cards, audio banking, online banking and bill payment, low-interest loans and more. As a Parkland employee, you can join this state-chartered credit union and take advantage of these services.

ARAG Learning Center has articles and resources about common legal issues and what you can do if they happen to you. Use access code 17502ph to access the website and go to Resources > Learning Center once you are logged into the ARAG website.

Check out the affordable Small Dollar Loans Program through the Community Loan Center of Dallas (clcofdallas.org).

Get a 20% discount at NPH Main Cafeteria, Park Market and Park Coffee Starbucks, and 15% discount in the Parkland gift shop.

Financial Hardship Relief Program

If you have taken out a short-term payday loan with an interest rate above 100% and are no longer able to pay it off, contact Metro Medical Credit Union to learn about our Financial Hardship Relief Program. Prior to receiving the loan, you must watch three financial wellness videos on Parkland Pathways as explained on the form.

 

Retirement Planning

Take advantage of matching contributions in the Supplemental Savings Plan after one year of service. For full-time and part-time-with-benefits employees, save at least 6% to receive a $1-for-$1 match up to 6% of pay.

Community Well-Being

Your mental and spiritual well-being play an important role. For staff, our Pastoral Care & Chaplain Services offer one-on-one short-term counseling, prayer requests and a relaxation room. Other resources include:

  • 24/7 meditation room on 3rd floor of NPH (new Parkland Hospital)
  • Moody Foundation Wellness Garden outside of NPH cafeteria
  • EAP to offer work-life balance and crisis intervention (Learn more here, and then call 844‑216‑8399 for help.)

Parkland gives back to the communities where we live and work through PTO donation, time off for jury duty and volunteering for community organizations, such as Toys for Tots, Food Pantry, Susan G. Komen, American Red Cross.

Parkland Auxiliary offers programs like the Employee Benevolence Fund and Financial Hardship Relief.

Parkland Cares for You provides an opportunity for employees to make contributions to other employees in need of assistance during the holiday season.

  • To make a tax-deductible monetary contribution through payroll deduction in PeopleSoft, go to Main Menu > My Parkland > Payroll and Compensation > Parkland Cares for You Program.
  • To apply for assistance, watch for a form, available later this year. Employees selected will receive gift cards to make holiday purchases for their dependents

Parkland Foundation

Through the Parkland Foundation, you can help extend the hospital system’s services to reach more people and enhance the quality of healthcare programs. It’s as easy as making a donation through PeopleSoft (MyParkland).

  • Make your gift your way. You have the option of making a one-time or recurring donation, or you can give PTO. Donate online at IStandforParkland.org or through PeopleSoft (Main Menu > My Parkland > Payroll and Compensation > I Stand for Parkland).
  • Honor a Hero. We invite all employees to make a $50 donation to honor a hero on a special wall in the John F. Kennedy Park for Hope, Healing and Heroes in front of the Ron J. Anderson, MD Clinic building. Donate through PeopleSoft (Main Menu > My Parkland > Payroll and Compensation > Honor a Hero).
  • Chevron Society. The “Chevron” symbol has long been an indication of quality, high rank and good standing in our community. As a donor to the Chevron Society, you are taking a lead role in maintaining Parkland’s nationally recognized excellence in healthcare, as well as strengthening our long-term commitment to our community’s health.

Career Well-Being

Improving your occupational skills enriches your overall well-being. You can advance and feel better when you achieve personal goals to better yourself.

Parkland’s Workforce Development Options offers:

  • Education at Work Program to pursue an associate’s or technical degree
  • “Reach for the Stars” Scholarship Program to help employees pursue a nursing career
  • Career Navigation Services with three one-on-one career planning sessions
